The New 2016 Proton Saga Launched Premium & Standard Interior Exterior Review
This Topaz Blue Proton Saga greeted me outside the showroom and first impression I think this is one of the best colour Proton I ever seen. My feel will be this colour will be the best seller and soon there will be many on the road. The Proton Saga exterior look solid and well design.
Very well balance and sold feeling.
Some glimpse of the new Toyota Camry design.
This Premium sport rim design very similar with the one on the new Perodua Bezza.
The 1.3 litre VVT engine is the same all across the range with 94 hp and should be enough to power this car. Sadly no test drive car available yet so we need to acertain this at a later time. The new Saga come with ECO Drive assit and with an impressive 5.4L/100km fuel economy.
The interior is quite basic and simple design but adequate for this pricing. No push start button but the premium range come with reverse camera with the screen integrated with the rear view mirror. The new Proton Saga certainly give Perodua some added competition to their popular Bezza and will be interesting to see whether Malaysian will make this as their prefer entry level family sedan.
The New 2016 Proton Perdana 2.4 & 2.0 Malaysia Launched Interior Exterior Full Review
The New 2016 Proton Perdana launched by Prime Minister Najib and claimed a new era in Proton history since the departure of ex PM Dr Mahathir and end of political influence in Proton. This is definately good news for Proton with string of bad results over the years and hope the launched of the new models to turnaround the fortune of this company. Let us see what Proton is offering us with this new model.
This is the highest range 2.4 model rebadge from the last generation Honda Accord. You can really see the similarities with the Accord other than you open up the engine compartment and see what powering this car.
Overall the front design not too bad and this 2.4 model comes with full bodykit.
The projector headlamp design link with the DRL.
The 2 tone 2.4L rim design.
I think this side mirror completely copy from Honda and look so outdated design. The turn indication should have a slimmer modern look.
The door handle with silver trim.
The dashboard design completely same with the old generation Accord. The colour combination of the beige and black dashboard with beige leather seat
The rear aircon vent for the 2.4L version.
Side door panel with leather and wood trim.
The steering wheel logo should have a 2d or 3d logo design rather than just a stamp logo. The top range Proton model should at least show more class. The 2.4L model comes with paddle shifter.
Driver side panel with leather and wood trim.
The gear knob and the gear indicator seem small and simple with the overall interior design of the car.
Rear spoiler but no rear bonnet release.
Rear
Good cargo space that can easily fit 2 golf bags.
Engine source from Honda.
The new engine source from Petronas will be available at 2017.
The 2.0 seat comes with black leather and fabric combination. This combination look better in my opinion with the completely black dashboard and interior design.
In my opinion the 2.0 model without the bodykit looks better. The bodykit version seem bulky and out of balance.
Silver and black colour my preference for the new Proton Perdana.
Spiderweb rim design for the 2.0 model.
I really don't like the rear design of this Perdana. The bottom part of the bumper seem cheaply stick on with fake exhaust.
In short, the new Perdana will not be a game changer for Proton. In my opinion the rebadging of the Honda Accord was poorly done and may not seem attractive to the consumer as there are many choice like the new Honda Civic with similar price and much more advance features. The 2016 Proton Perdana already seem outdated with no push start button and keyless go seem unexplainable. I feel the Proton Iriz much better car than the Proton Accordana.
